Synopsis:
“Ready Or Not” opens with a celebration of friendship, a bachelor party in Las Vegas. Christian is about to get married and Marc, his best man, will do anything to get him to come to his senses, but it will require drastic measures.
Marc kidnaps Christian, throws him on a plane and next thing you know, four guys in tuxedos are parachuting deep in to Mexico. They get off to a great start, hitting it off with Don Julio, a powerful, flamboyant “businessman” with a zest for life and an army of henchmen.
Unfortunately, the new friendship doesn’t last long. At a cantina, the guys hook up with Puri, a gorgeous dancer eager to escape her small-town life. When it turns out that Puri is the rebellious daughter of intensely protective Don Julio, the guys land in jail for the night.
After a dire warning, Don Julio releases them. But Puri defiantly kisses Marc in front of her father and soon the boys are being hunted across a raw Mexico backdrop. Penniless, in the middle of nowhere, the boys and Puri begin a desperate, bungling quest to reach the border.
Along the way they encounter, among other colorful characters: a Matador who is afraid to be a Matador; Nacho the Macho, a wannabe gangster; and a desert-dwelling, peyote-tripping Dead Head. Other adventures include launching a siege on Don Julio’s estate to re-rescue Puri, unwittingly creating a religious “miracle,” and facing a firing squad.
Through their journey, we discover that Lawrence is having a tough time with his own marriage. The meek Dean learns to stand up for himself as he tries to win Puri’s heart. And Christian comes to terms with this new phase in his life, even if it means losing his best friend.
