Through five episodes, one can follow the development of one of the most important industrial sectors in Norwegian history from the 1960s until today.

Norway was a country without the knowledge of the oil and gas production when international oil giants in 1962, wanted to explore in the North Sea. But since the first oil discoveries on Ekofisk in 1969, Norway has built up a position as a technological and economical super power, largely because of the enormous revenues from the seabed on the Norwegian continental shelf.
